Selling on TikTok Shop Europe from Turkey: Seller Requirements (2026)

Who can sell on TikTok Shop in the EU and the UK? Live markets, sole trader and company requirements, the local representative, inventory and bank account rules, Sell Across EU and Sell to UK, and a realistic route for a Turkey-based brand. Based on TikTok's own registration policies.

Short answer: a company registered in Turkey can't become a TikTok Shop seller in Europe directly. Under TikTok's EU Seller Registration Policy, the business must be incorporated in the country where it opens the shop, its representative needs an EU-issued ID and must live there, inventory has to be stored in that country and the bank account must be in the EU. The UK policy follows the same logic: a UK-incorporated company, a UK-resident representative, UK inventory and a UK bank account. TikTok's cross-border Global Selling site only offers registration for US and Chinese companies. The realistic route is a company set up in the target country, selling from stock held there.

We cover why TikTok Shop isn't open in Turkey and the US requirements in separate posts. This one covers Europe and the UK, based on TikTok's own seller policies.

Which European markets are live?

According to TikTok's announcement of 28 May 2026, TikTok Shop opened in Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands and Poland from 15 June 2026, joining the existing markets in France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain and the UK — ten markets in Europe.

The rules sit in two separate policies:

  • The EU Seller Registration Policy (dated 21 September 2026). Its "applies to" list: Belgium, Germany, Spain, France, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands and Poland. Austria is in the announcement but not on this list; if you're considering Austria, confirm the rules in TikTok's Seller Center separately.
  • The UK Seller Registration Policy (dated 8 September 2026). The UK isn't in the EU, so it has its own policy and its own Seller Center.

Can you apply directly from Turkey?

No, for three reasons:

  1. The company must be incorporated in that country. The EU policy limits legal-entity applications to businesses legally incorporated in the country where they register. The UK policy requires a UK-incorporated company.
  2. Inventory must be in that country. Both policies require inventory to be stored in the country of registration, domestic orders to ship domestically and returns to be accepted domestically. The seller is liable for import VAT and customs duties when the goods first enter the EU (or the UK).
  3. There's no cross-border door. TikTok Shop Global Selling only shows registration options "for US companies" and "for Chinese companies"; there's no separate route into Europe for a company in Turkey.

Selling in the EU as a sole trader

The EU policy defines two seller types: sole traders and legal entities. A sole trader must:

  • Be at least 18.
  • Hold a valid EU-issued passport, national identity card or other EU-issued ID.
  • Self-declare as a sole trader during registration.
  • Provide a domestic address and proof of address (a bank statement or utility bill dated within the last 3 months).
  • Store inventory in the country of registration, ship all items domestically and accept returns domestically.

Because of the EU-issued ID requirement, this route is only open to people with EU citizenship or another EU-issued identity document.

Selling in the EU as a company

A legal-entity application requires:

  • A business legally incorporated in the country where the shop is opened.
  • An EU-issued ID for the business representative, and proof that the representative lives in that country.
  • Inventory stored in the country of registration, evidenced by an address or lease if requested.
  • A business bank account at an EU bank, in the company's name as it appears on its registration.

The policy allows an exception: for applicants TikTok Shop considers "larger enterprises", it may accept a representative's ID from any country, residence in any EU Member State, or shipping from a warehouse in another EU locale. That decision is at TikTok Shop's sole discretion, case by case; the criteria aren't published.

The application asks for the entity type and trade register details, business address and proof, VAT number, representative details, IBAN and BIC/SWIFT, tax identification number, warehouse address and customer contact details. TikTok Shop may request extra documents, beneficial ownership information and a liveness check. Products can't be listed until the information is verified, and every new shop starts with a Shop Probation Period.

From one EU country to others: Sell Across EU

A seller with a registered shop in one EU country can apply to open shops in other EU markets (Sell Across EU):

  • The company first opens its shop in its country of incorporation, then applies for additional countries.
  • Orders in additional countries can ship from a domestic warehouse in that country or from the company's existing address in its country of incorporation; the seller has to show TikTok Shop its fulfilment capability for each country.
  • TikTok Shop can decline the application, and each new shop goes through its own probation period.

The UK: a separate policy, two-way routes

The UK requirements mirror the EU's: a UK-incorporated company, a UK business address, a UK-resident representative, inventory stored in the UK and a UK bank account (or an EU one for Sell Across Europe sellers). Sole traders need a valid passport or driving licence and a domestic address. For "larger enterprises", a representative living outside the UK may be accepted case by case.

The two markets are linked:

  • EU to UK (Sell to UK): eligible sellers with a shop in an EU country can apply to open a shop in the UK.
  • UK to EU (Sell Across Europe): sellers with a UK shop can apply to open shops in EU markets.

In both cases, if the source shop has graduated from probation, the new shop doesn't go through a separate probation period.

A realistic route for a Turkey-based brand

The picture from TikTok's policies is clear: the way in is not the company in Turkey but a structure in the target country. In practice that takes four pieces:

  • A company incorporated in the country where the shop will open (or working with a partner or distributor incorporated there).
  • A business representative with EU-issued ID who lives in that country.
  • Inventory held in that country — your own warehouse or a logistics provider. Import VAT and customs duties on first entry into the EU are your responsibility.
  • An EU business bank account in the company's name.

The cost, tax consequences and best country for that structure depend on your product and scale, so talk to a local accountant and lawyer before choosing. To weigh which market fits your product, see our Germany and UK market pages. If you want to ship order by order from Turkey without moving stock to Europe, TikTok Shop doesn't fit that model; the route for that is micro-export through your own store or other marketplaces.

FAQ

Can you sell on TikTok Shop Europe from Turkey? Not directly with a Turkish company. TikTok's EU and UK policies require a company incorporated in the shop's country, a representative living there, inventory in that country and an EU or UK bank account.

Can I open a TikTok Shop in Europe as an individual? An EU sole trader needs an EU-issued ID, an address in the country of registration and inventory stored there. Turkish citizenship and an address in Turkey alone don't meet those requirements.

Can one EU shop sell to other EU countries? Yes, through Sell Across EU. The shop is opened first in the country of incorporation, then the seller applies for other EU countries. Orders can ship from a local warehouse in each country or from the address in the country of incorporation; approval is at TikTok Shop's discretion.

Do I need a separate company for the UK? Applying directly in the UK requires a UK-incorporated company. Eligible sellers with a shop in an EU country can, however, apply to open a UK shop through Sell to UK.

What documents does a TikTok Shop Europe application need? Trade register details, business address and proof, VAT number, the representative's ID and proof of address, EU bank details and a statement, tax identification number and warehouse address. TikTok Shop may ask for more documents and a liveness check.

Summary

TikTok Shop is live in ten European markets, but the door opens from the target country, not from Turkey: a company incorporated there, a representative living there, inventory there and an EU or UK bank account. Once established in one country, Sell Across EU and Sell to UK open the other markets. Before building that structure, testing whether your product sells through short video and live streams is the cheapest way to check the company and warehouse costs will pay back.
