A Gift Brand Grown by a Free Tool
Faith-Themed Leather Gifts · Site + Etsy + Amazon · US
A brand selling faith-themed leather gifts in the US. In July its site was nearly invisible on Google. Instead of product pages we built a free daily tool and guide articles, and shipped orders from a US warehouse. In three months monthly organic clicks went from 9 to 164; the first 13 days of October beat all of September. This page separates what happened from the month-end target scenario.
Starting point
The products are hand-stitched in a workshop in Turkey; the buyers are in the US. The brand sells on Etsy and Amazon; its own site does not sell, it routes visitors to those two marketplaces.
In June the site was shown on Google 63 times and earned zero clicks. Product pages existed, but nobody was searching for "leather Bible bookmark"; people were searching for something else.
What we did
We found what people were actually searching for: a verse, every day. We built a free daily-verse tool on the site, then added a tool that picks a verse by mood, illustrated verses and downloadable wallpapers.
We wrote guides for the questions that sit right at a gifting moment: what to write in a thank-you card, what to give for an adult baptism. Each guide carries the relevant product and a marketplace link.
Every click from the site to Etsy or Amazon is measured with the page and the product it came from.
We set up a daily publishing routine for Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook; images and copy come out of the same pipeline.
Etsy orders ship not from Turkey but from Amazon's warehouse in the US. The buyer sees the parcel in transit within hours, not days.
What happened: actual numbers
Clicks from Google, monthly: July 9, August 28, September 164. 168 in the first 13 days of October, more than all of September.
Google impressions were 63 in June; since August, between 4,700 and 5,100 every month.
Organic search sessions, monthly: July 12, August 34, September 190. 257 in the first 13 days of October.
The engine is the free tool: on its own it has brought 207 clicks and 3,039 impressions since July. The thank-you card guide ranks around position 8 on Google.
Visits from AI assistants have started to show up; ChatGPT is now on the traffic-source list.
Etsy: 25 orders since July. Of 22 Etsy orders shipped from the US warehouse, 14 left the warehouse within 24 hours; the median was about 16 hours.
The weak spot is just as clear: the tool brings traffic, but few visitors cross to a marketplace. Site-to-Etsy and site-to-Amazon clicks since July: 12.
Month-end target scenario
This section is a target, not a result. The scenario we drew for the end of October: 5,000 $ in Amazon sales, 1,000 $ in Amazon affiliate income, 3,000 $ in Etsy sales. 9,000 $ a month in total.
On Etsy the average basket is about 30 $. 3,000 $ needs around 100 orders a month; today's pace is around 9. What closes the gap is not new traffic but moving existing traffic to a product.
What happens before month-end: Link every verse on the free tool to the product that carries that verse. Add a three-product box, chosen for the gifting moment, to each guide. Switch the first photo on Etsy and Amazon listings to the product in use; the same change raised sales 60% on another of our brands. Concentrate the Amazon ad budget on the three most-saved and most-clicked products. On the affiliate side, offer products that fit the daily-verse visitor through an Amazon link.
At month-end the actual numbers will be added to this page, including what fell short.
Lessons
If product pages get no searches, a free tool answering the question next to the product does. For this brand most of the traffic comes from one tool.
Traffic is not sales. Until the bridge from tool to product is built, visitors grow while marketplace clicks stand still.
When selling abroad, speed is trust. Shipping from a US warehouse makes a small brand from Turkey as fast as a domestic seller.
